2006 HOT AUGUST NIGHTS
Our
2006 SACC convention was just conveniently conjoined with Hot August Nights, a
west coast
primo car show.
The
cruise is a controlled cruise, that is only selected
entrants are allowed to cruise the main street, Virginia
Street. The city erects the barricades just before the
cruise starts, then there are two lanes of cruisers.
There were many varied types of cars and trucks,
this solid axle being a nice representative of Chevy's
fiberglass ride.
Of
course there were lots of other bow-ties.
Here's how it
looked looking north up Virginia
Street in downtown Reno. All that plus
live rock 'n roll.
The big swap
meet was at the Reno Livestock Events
Center.
And here's what
greeted you as you walked into the arena.
These are all primo top dollar rides up for sale.

Next
door
neighbor Sparks, NV
has it's own
cruise, also.
I thought that
the solid axles
ruled.
Ok, that's a tiny glimpse of what Reno and Sparks had for the thrill-seekers (me included.) I hope we can get back to the Reno area sometime in the future. And to steal a baseball quote, "If you missed it, you missed it."
