SOLID AXLE CORVETTE CONVENTION
JUNE 25-27, 2013
MEMPHIS, TN

Thursday, July 25
8-9AM Continental breakfast and early registration for those who arrived on Wednesday
in the Hospitality Suite.

10 AM Board of Directors of SACC meeting in Board Room, lower level.

2:30 PM Board of Directors meet with CHAPTER REPS/CHAPTER OFFICERS (place
to be announced)

5 PM Registration for those arriving Thursday, with WELCOME RECEPTION.
Appetizers and soft drink provided, cash bar available until 6:15 PM. Meet your friends
and go to dinner on your own. Memphis is the home of barbeque and it is delicious.
(Remember you will most likely have barbeque on Tuesday for lunch and dinner.) The
hotel van is available or the trolley is an easy walk for transportation.


Friday, July 26
7-8AM Continental breakfast in Hospitality Suite.

8:45 Assemble in the hotel lobby for a fun bus tour of Memphis! Bus will have bottled
water available.

9AM BACKBEAT BUS TOUR of Memphis DEPARTS PROMPTLY from the
CROWN PLAZA.
12PM Tour bus will drop us at BEALE STREET to have lunch on your own and look
around. You can return to the hotel via hotel van if you CALL them (901-525-1800)
or walk 2 blocks to the TROLLEY. Consider B.B. Kings for lunch, they have the best
ribs. The GIBSON GUITAR FACTORY is 1 block from BEALE Street. TOURS are
at the top of each hour and cost $8.00. This is available if you want to consider more
sightseeing.

5PM All Corvettes assemble in the lower level parking lot to be led to GRACELAND!
Regular cars and trucks follow behind. We will park in the FENCED, EMPLOYEE
PARKING LOT, be taken by bus across the street to the mansion, tour and then
you will be instructed when and how to line up your CORVETTE for the pictures.
GRACELAND WILL ONLY ALLOW ONE PHOTOGRAPHER!!!, NO OTHER
PICTURES MAY BE TAKEN OF THE CAR AS IT IS PARKED IN FRONT OF THE
MANSION. This is their rule and we must abide….Dinner will be served in Elvis’ CAR
MUSEUM across the street and will consist of barbeque chicken, pulled pork and beef
brisket with all the trimmings and Elvis’ favorite deserts. Iced tea is provided with dinner
and a cash bar is available. Two gift shops will remain open for us. You may return to
the hotel on your own or wait for a group to return. This is a private tour! You will not
have to stand back or wait in long lines and the very best way to enjoy GRACELAND.


Saturday, July 27

7-8AM Continental breakfast in Hospitality Suite.
8:30 – 4:30 Restoration and educational classes for the SAC. Instruction will be provided
by longtime owners and members who have restored several Solid Axle Corvettes. Be
sure to take advantage of their vast knowledge.

9:30 Ladies meet in Hospitality Suite to find a friend to walk or shop or spend the
morning doing what ever you want!

12 Noon Luncheon for all in Banquet room.
12:45 VINTAGE CLOTHING STYLE SHOW presented by Great Rivers Chapter of
SACC. Great Rivers Chapter is privileged to have Karen & Jim Semanski who own a
Vintage 1950s home and wardrobe! It is fun to hear her share her stories and see her all
dressed up!

6PM Social Hour begins with cash bar in Banquet room with dinner at 6:30. Surprise,
and well-known Corvette Enthusiast Speaker at 7:30. Annual business meeting begins at
8:00.
Anyone not attending the dinner who wants to attend the Annual Meeting is welcome to
enter the room at 8:00 PM. Chairs will be set up in the back of the room.

Sunday, July 28

Departure. We hope you had a great time and have a safe trip home! Great
Rivers Chapter thanks you for attending your 2013 SACC National Convention. We had
fun hosting and seeing old and new friends!
