Garage Crawl
Flower Mound, Texas, August 28, 2016
Hosted by the Red River Chapter of SACC
It was a
beautiful afternoon, and Al and Barb MacDonald hosted a nice
little Corvette event at their house in Flower Mound.
Here you see Nate Lanford popping the hood release on his car.
Just
recently joining SACC is Bruce Jarrett (Behind the passenger
side of the windshield with the white hat).
This is Bill Preston's stunning '56.
This red beauty is Ron
Cople's.
It is a real nice '62.
And Dennis Conte just had an
engine rebuild.
You can see the car in the next picture.
Here is Dennis pointing out
an aspect of the engine
rebuild. This car is original paint.
Folks, this
is a garage. This day it doubled as a banquet hall.
We had a nice lunch of pulled pork, Texas BBQ sauce (of course),
plus potato salad and dessert.
Here is another view of Al
and Barb's garage (banquet hall
with collector car).
And what is a garage without
a restored Model A?
Bill Preston
from Flower Mound (Dallas area), Texas was the emcee. He
presented a discussion on his visit with Zora Arkus Duntov.
As did John
Spencer! He recounted his lengthy visit with Mr. Duntov, and
highlighted Mr. Duntov's accomplishments.
And this is what sits in
Al's 'secondary' garage.
Then we
walked down the lane to close-by neighbor's Bob and Melinda's
garage.
This is a Corvette neighborhood!
What a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday
Afternoon! Bill and Diane Preston set this event up. It was well
appreciated.
Thanks Bill and Diane!!
