Here's the Regional Special
Events Center at Murray
State University in Murray,
Kentucky. This is a super
first class facility, as you will
note as you check out the
pictures. Suffice it to say
it is big and nice. The whole
show was indoors. And what a show it was. Check out these
pictures and you will get an
idea of how well run and classy
a show this was.
Your website editor
provided
the live music for Friday's
appreciation banquet for
the vendors and the
participants. Nobody threw
rotten cabbage at me, so I guess
they were ok with the music.
I saw
that CEO of the show
Joe Pruitt (center) and SACC
President Max Brockhouse (right) were going to be photographed with the trophies
that would be awarded, so I ran over and jumped in just in time to get in the
picture.
This
will give you an idea
of how nice the show was.
There were cars in the
balcony, too.
This
pristine '58 was the only
solid axle in the show. Becky
and Ron Brown have owned
this beauty for three years.
It won the coveted Sans Pareil
award last year at the National Corvette Homecoming Show.
Bob
Bean conducted a seminar on detailing for a show
quality appearance.
And
check this out! I got
to be a celebrity judge. I went for this red 1977 Chevy solid-
axle truck. It was spotless, was
driven to the show, and was shiny, shiny, shiny. Even the cow catcher was
chromed.
Here you see owners Clyde and
Trish Shafer with their hood-up
solid axle.
And I
helped CEO Joe Pruitt
award this celebrity choice to
Dan and Willa Jaquess. Their
'96 Grand Sport was spotless
even though they drove it from
Tennessee the day before
in the rain.

And capping off a great
Saturday was the jumpin' sounds of the
Jackie Fox Band. They rocked the place.
As you can see, this show had something for everyone. Even party-time with rockin' music on Saturday night. This was the first car show to be held at this facility, and they rolled out the red carpet. Show CEO Joe Pruitt is no rookie when it comes to running a car show, as he is owner and CEO of the National Corvette Homecoming, held annually in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Max Brockhouse and I represented SACC by answering questions and passing out several of our nice flyers. You just might want to put Murray, Kentucky on your list for next year. The show will be on the second week-end in April.
