Sulphur Springs, Texas Corvette Show
and SACC Red River Chapter Annual Meeting

The activity starts before the show starts!  You can't take a dirty car to a car show.
Just ask Bill Preston.  But it paid off, you will see that he was one of the show winners.
Helping Bill is Al MacDonald.

Here's where you check in and register for the show.  It was a beautiful fall-like
day in North-Eastern Texas.

Here are some of the C-1's present.

The Corvettes take over the downtown square, as you can see.
They have a section for all the generations.  In this pic you can see
part of the C-3's, and the Hopkins County Courthouse in the background.

Over in the resto-mod section new SACC member Charlie Beet
had his resto-mod '62.  He did 95% of the restoration and modifications
himself.

The Red River Chapter of the Solid Axle Corvette Club has
their annual meeting at this show.  Here you see the chapter banner
and Red River Chapter President Tom Lainson.

You have to be from this area to appreciate this little A-frame placard on
the dash of this '66.  One of the favorite fast food restaurant chains in Texas
is Whataburger.  When you order and pay, they give you a placard like this
one and you go find a table.  Then they bring out your order to you.

Not real sure how he became the owner of this placard.  I probably
should have asked.

As I mentioned, the Red River Chapter holds its annual meeting at this
show.  Here you see the room being readied for the chapter meeting.

Here is another view of the C-1's at the show.

Taking 2nd place in the resto-mod division was new SACC member Charlie Beet with his
'62.

And the three C-1 winners were (1-3, L to R) Mary Davis, Katrina Wadley, Norm Bartee,
and Bill Preston.

This is part of the engine bay of a floppy axle and it really got to me.  Look
closely, the owner calls this car the "Dark Knight".

So that's just a few pictures from the 2016 Sulphur Springs Corvette Club show.  They put on a very nice show and it is held in a great setting.  Plus for us
we have the Red River Chapter annual meeting!
